Wave International (Wave) undertook the EPCM delivery of the Water Treatment Plant at Premier Coal near Collie, WA in Australia. These works included detailed design engineering, project management, construction management and safety management of all phases of the project.
This pivotal project underscores our commitment to sustainable mining operations and environmental stewardship, ensuring the treatment of effluent water meets stringent regulatory standards before its release into the east branch of the Collie River.
- Successfully reduced the levels of iron, manganese, aluminium, and other metal contaminants in the effluent water, ensuring compliance with the Department of Water (DoW) standards.
- Environmental Compliance: Adjusted the pH and alkalinity of the treated water to within acceptable limits, significantly minimising the environmental impact on the Collie River.
- The project enabled the dewatering of new mining areas, facilitating the expansion of Premier Coal’s operations in Western Australia by ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance.
