Project Summary
Owned by South 32 and located on an island in Australia’s Gulf of Carpentaria, Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO), produces high-grade manganese ore. Wave International have delivered ongoing support as part of GEMCO’s Structural Integrity program.
Key assests and programs include:
- Export Facility: Designed a new 400m out loading conveyor.
- Shiploader rebuild and boom upgrade.
- Marine Structures Replacement: – Installed new walkways and marine piles and mooring dolphins – Removal of original walkways damaged by a cyclone.
- Conveyor Stacker Replacement: Enhanced operational efficiency.
- In-loading Conveyors: Executed structural upgrades for durability.
