Project History

SARAJI MINE JACARANDA PROJECT

Scope

Wave were commissioned to detailed engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning services for the Saraji Mine Jacaranda Project.

Description

Wave provided the detailed engineering through to execution and commissioning for the rapid discharge pumping system required to achieve controlled release of water during extreme rainfall events.  The pumping system was designed for a flowrate of 4,000 L/s and comprised 6 x 6.6kV pontoon mounted pumps with the appropriate guarding, walkway, and safety requirements as well as 6 x 630mm discharge pipes.

Due to the large initial static head and extremely high flowrates, dynamic hydraulic analysis of the pumping system (and water hammer) was also completed by Wave.
