Redesign of Caustic Storage Geo Tank

Scope

Wave were appointed by the Client to support the design and construction management of a caustic storage geo tank, including the engineering design, operations, maintenance, safety, and technical specifications.

Description

The project involved the engineering design of the leak detection pipeline, floating roof, suction and supply line details and the liner.  It included the definition of safe access to allow for the service, replacement and/or inspections of level probes and recovery of coupons (amongst others) with minimal operational input, and the construction methodology, QA/QC specifications, commissioning, and testing processes.

Wave also undertook the task of updating site standards and technical specifications on civil and lining for installation and construction as well as the confirmation of materials selection and alternate material use for the leak detection layer of the tank.
