Scope

Wave were commissioned to provide studies, detailed engineering, project and construction management commissioning, shutdown, and asset management for the East Weipa Mine, Amrun Mine, Weipa, and Gove operations.

Description

Engaged to provide ongoing engineering services to Rio Tinto Weipa and Gove Bauxite Operations, Wave have undertaken the following works:

• Tailings dam on site construction for the East Weipa Mine
• Beneficiation plant and out-loading/ship loading facilities commissioning and operational readiness and the dam structures detailed engineering for the Amrun Mine
• Beneficiation plant shutdown management, out loading system capacity upgrades engineering, construction management and bridge refurbishment project for Weipa
• Asset Management analysis and engineering review and structural integrity and rehabilitation of marine structures for Gove
