Wave was commissioned to perform the Identification Phase Study and Selection Phase Study for three outflow sample stations. In addition, Wave was commissioned to perform the Execution Detailed Design for one sample station.
The project objective was the upgrade and/or replacement of the client's existing sample stations to ISO 3082:2009. This was to provide a reliable and maintainable system for the accurate sampling of product streams within the Shiploader No.1 and No.2 circuits.
The project involved mechanical, structural and electrical disciplines. It included the installation of new sample stations at different locations as well as modifications to production conveyors, and the installation of new feed and return conveyors.
The laser scanning of existing infrastructure ensured an accurate design in a brown-fields environment. The efficiency of the restored sample station was increased by 130% following the modifications.
