Motor Control Centre Upgrade
- Client Name Withheld
The Queensland mine site required their coal handling processing plant and several motor control centres to be upgraded to meet the newer standards and functionality requirements set out by the owner.
Wave International was involved in the engineering, procurement and contractor management (Program and Construction Management) off site on the design phase.
Wave undertook all the electrical engineering and drafting of five motor control centres in-house. This streamlined the design process and reduced complications of having external resources. In addition to using conventional electrical protection, Wave incorporated and programmed the motor protection relays (MPR) (Siemens Simocode) to assist with monitoring, diagnostics and increasing the protection reliability.
